Casey Campbell co-owns Hair N’At with licensed cosmetologist Alysha Campbell. The full-service salon opened its doors on September 1, 2015 in Apollo, Pennsylvania.
Since 2015, Hair N’At has been successfully serving up custom hair colors to the community, along with nail and esthetic services. Thanks to the salon’s expert techniques, they’re making their corner of the earth more bold and beautiful—one custom style at a time.
1. Can you tell me a little bit about what you do?
We are a full-service family-friendly salon that strives to serve our local area with affordable and amazing services. We pride ourselves on quality and education. We specialize in custom color services.
2. What made you decide to open Hair N’At?
I had a vision of how I wanted things to be run, and I wanted to be educated and continue to pass that on to my employees. A lot of places want to keep their trade secrets when it comes to color application and technique.
With my team, I am an open book because when they succeed, we succeed as a team. I opened my own shop so that we could all be comfortable.
4. What services do you offer?
We offer a large menu of hair, nail, and esthetic services, specializing in custom color and vivids.
5. What’s your favorite part of running your own business?
Being able to choose the services offered, the professional products used, and the training used to educate my team.
6. Tell me about the biggest obstacle you had to overcome in your business.
You learn about not always being able to please everyone every time—employees and clients alike. Owning and operating a small business is not easy (and can be difficult at times), but it is worth it. The pandemic proved challenging with the mandated closing by the government, but we have persevered.

8. When it comes to your business, what are you most proud of?

9. What words of advice do you have for people hoping to start their own business?
Be prepared to work 10x harder than anyone else. Know going into it that things will take time and sometimes there is waiting involved, but stay the course and see it through. It all takes time to build clientele, but be patient and follow your dreams.
